Varroville Site Demolition & Excavation

ClientReitsma Constructions
LocationVarroville, NSW
ScopeDemolition, bulk & detail excavation
Year2023

A full-scope package for Reitsma Constructions: demolition of existing structures, followed by bulk and detail excavation for the new works.

The brief

Reitsma Constructions needed a single contractor to take the Varroville site from existing structures to an excavated, build-ready platform. The scope covered demolition, removal of footings and slabs, bulk excavation to design levels and detail excavation for the new structure, all on a semi-rural site on the edge of the Scenic Hills.

What we did

We sequenced the job so demolition flowed straight into earthmoving with no handover gap. Structures were taken down and materials separated for recycling, footings and slabs removed, and the site stripped. Bulk excavation then brought the platform to level, before our operators moved onto detail excavation for footings and services. SWMS, environmental controls and daily toolbox talks ran throughout.

The result

A cleared, excavated site delivered to Reitsma Constructions in one continuous programme, ready for the structural trades, with the demolition, earthworks and excavation documentation held under one contractor.

LocationNarellan, NSW
ScopeEarthworks
Year2023

Earthworks for Cash McInnes Projects in Narellan, in the heart of the Camden growth corridor.

The brief

Narellan sits at the centre of one of Sydney's fastest-growing corridors, where builders need earthworks contractors who can mobilise quickly and hand over to programme. Cash McInnes Projects engaged us to deliver the earthworks package on their Narellan project.

What we did

Our crew set up sediment and erosion controls, stripped and stockpiled topsoil, then completed cut and fill to the design levels, compacting fill in layers and trimming the platform ready for the following trades. Spoil that could not be balanced on site was loaded and trucked to licensed facilities with dockets kept.

The result

A level, compacted platform handed over to Cash McInnes Projects, with environmental controls in place and the site left ready for construction to start.

Holsworthy Electrical Conduits

ClientHolsworthy Army Base
LocationHolsworthy, NSW
ScopeElectrical conduit installation
Year2022

Trenching and electrical conduit installation on one of Australia's largest Defence estates.

The brief

Holsworthy is an operating Defence base, and any excavation there runs under strict permit, induction and access requirements. The project required electrical conduits to be installed underground across the site, around existing services and live operations.

What we did

We planned the trench alignments against the drawings and available services information, then located and potholed services before excavating. Trenches were dug to the specified depth, conduits laid and bedded, marker tape installed and the trenches backfilled and compacted once inspected. All work was carried out within the base's permit and induction systems.

The result

Conduits installed to line and depth within the base's permit system, and a body of Defence-site experience we have carried into further work at Holsworthy.

Year2021

Earthworks and excavation for a new driveway and carport in the Southern Highlands.

The brief

B2B Project & Construction Management needed the groundwork for a new driveway and carport on a Mittagong property in the Southern Highlands. The work had to suit the existing home and grades, and drain properly in a region that sees plenty of rain.

What we did

We excavated the driveway and carport areas to depth and grade, removed unsuitable material, and placed and compacted sub-base in layers. Levels and falls were set to carry water away from the house and carport, and footings for the carport structure were excavated to the engineer's details.

The result

A properly prepared base for the new driveway and carport, and a client who has since recommended us for civil projects big and small.

“Rob and the team assisted with my project in Mittagong and provided a great end result. Would recommend Civil Scope Earthworks and the team for all civil projects big and small.”

Demolition & Excavation Programme

Colemans Group

An ongoing demolition and excavation relationship across multiple sites in NSW and the ACT.

Colemans Group engages Civil Scope Earthworks on a recurring basis for demolition and excavation across sites in NSW and the ACT. Repeat work like this depends on consistency: the same safety documentation, the same standard of work and crews who arrive on time, ready to start.

Across the programme we have delivered demolition of existing structures, excavation for new works and site cleanup, adapting plant and crew size to each site while keeping one point of contact for the client.

“Colemans Group regularly use the services of Civil Scope Earthworks. They always arrive on time and provide a safe and effective work environment.”

Demolition, Bulk & Detail Excavation

Integrated Environmental

Demolition and excavation packages delivered for an environmental services contractor across multiple NSW sites.

Integrated Environmental engaged us to deliver demolition followed by bulk and detail excavation across several sites in NSW. Environmental contractors expect their subcontractors to take site controls seriously, and our Construction and Demolition Environmental Risk Management Plans are written for exactly that kind of client.

On each site we carried out demolition, separated materials for recycling and disposal, then completed bulk excavation and the detail excavation that followed, with sediment controls and stockpile management in place throughout.

Holsworthy Barracks Excavation

Defence Electrical

Excavation for Defence Electrical on a complicated project inside Holsworthy Army Barracks.

Defence Electrical brought us onto a complex excavation package at Holsworthy Army Barracks. Working inside an active Defence site means inductions, permits to dig, escorted access and careful coordination with other trades, all while excavating accurately around existing infrastructure.

Our director, Rob May, operated on the project himself and managed the coordination with the electrical team, helping keep a difficult job on track through to completion.

“Rob from Civil Scope Earthworks was a tremendous asset to have on the team throughout a complicated & difficult project. His work as an operator is second to none.”

Environmental Earthworks & Weed Control

Dragonfly Environmental

Earthworks, large-scale weed control and commercial landscaping in environmentally sensitive areas.

Dragonfly Environmental is a bush regeneration and environmental restoration specialist, and Civil Scope Earthworks is their preferred contractor for landscaping and environmental works. That includes large-scale weed control in environmentally sensitive areas, where machine choice, access routes and sediment control matter as much as productivity.

We plan each job with Dragonfly's supervisors, use the smallest suitable plant, protect the vegetation that is staying, and leave the ground stable for regeneration or landscaping to follow.

“Professional, knowledgeable and when they say they'll get it done, they get it done.”

North Head Earthworks

Confluence Water

Earthworks for a water infrastructure client on the North Head headland at Manly.

North Head is one of Sydney's most environmentally significant headlands, surrounded by national park and harbour. Earthworks here call for strict environmental controls, careful access planning and crews who respect the setting they are working in.

For Confluence Water we delivered earthworks with sediment and erosion controls installed before work began, plant sized to suit the access, and spoil and stockpiles managed so nothing left the work area that should not. The site was handed back stable and tidy.

Loftus Demolition

Autism Spectrum

Demolition works in Loftus in Sydney's south, planned around the client's day-to-day operations.

Demolition for a community organisation needs more than a licence. It needs careful scheduling, secure exclusion zones, dust control and clear communication with the client's people so that their day-to-day work carries on with as little disruption as possible.

We planned the demolition around the client's requirements, separated and removed materials for recycling and disposal, and handed back a clean, safe site ready for the next stage.

Rosemeadow Electrical Conduits

Ozlect

Trenching and electrical conduit installation for Ozlect in Rosemeadow.

In established suburbs like Rosemeadow, conduit installation means trenching around existing services, driveways, trees and residents. Accurate service location and tidy reinstatement are what separate a good job from a complaint.

For Ozlect we located services, trenched to the drawings, laid and bedded conduits, installed marker tape and backfilled and reinstated the surface once the work was inspected.
