Demolition is the stage of a project with the least room for error. Structures have to come down in the right sequence, hazardous materials have to be identified and removed before anything else happens, and neighbouring properties, services and the public all have to be protected. Civil Scope Earthworks holds SafeWork NSW Demolition Licence AD 213 437 and carries out demolition in line with AS 2601, the Australian Standard for the demolition of structures.
We demolish houses for knockdown-rebuild projects, strip out and demolish commercial and industrial buildings, remove sheds, garages, pools, driveways and slabs, and clear sites for development across Campbelltown, Camden, Liverpool, Wollongong and Greater Sydney.
Because we also deliver earthworks and excavation, the site does not sit idle between demolition and the next stage. We can clear, level and prepare the block in one continuous programme.
Planning a demolition properly
Every demolition job starts with a site inspection and a review of any hazardous materials survey. We confirm services are disconnected, plan the demolition sequence and exclusion zones, and prepare the SWMS, risk assessments and Construction and Demolition Environmental Risk Management Plan specific to that site.
Demolition usually needs approval through a DA or a complying development certificate. We work with owners, builders and certifiers so the paperwork matches the work, and we can explain what your council is likely to require.

For homeowners and builders, we take a house down to a clear block, remove footings and slabs, cap off services as required and leave the site level and tidy. We protect neighbouring fences, trees and structures, keep dust under control, and make sure the street is left as we found it.
Commercial and industrial demolition
On commercial and industrial sites we work under head contractors and directly for owners, including sites that remain partly operational during the works. Staging, traffic management, hoarding and exclusion zones are planned around the people who still need to use the site.
Recycling first
We separate concrete, masonry, metals and timber on site wherever we can so they go to recycling rather than landfill. It is better for the environment, and it usually reduces disposal costs for our clients.
